(A) Each Commission member, before entering his or her duties, shall take an oath of office in the usual form, to be endorsed upon his or her certificate of appointment and promptly filed with the Clerk of the Dearborn Circuit Court.
(B) The Commission is a governmental body and, as such, shall comply with all federal and state laws including, but not limited to, the following:
(1) Indiana “Open Door Law” (I.C. 5-14-1.5-1 et seq.);
(2) Indiana “Access to Public Records” law (I.C. 5-14-3-1 et seq.);
(3) Indiana “Publication of Notices” law (I.C. 5-3-1 et seq.);
(4) Indiana “Nepotism” law (I.C. 36-1-20.2-1 et seq.); and
(5) Indiana “Conflict of Interest” law (I.C. 35-44.1-1-4).
(C) All money coming into possession of the Commission shall be deposited, held, secured, invested, and paid in accordance with statutes relating to the handling of public funds.
(D) The handling and expenditure of money coming into possession of the Commission is subject to audit and supervision by the State Board of Accounts.
