In compliance with state law, all city primary elections shall be held on the Tuesday following the first Monday in August of every fourth odd-numbered year beginning with the year 2005. The terms of office of all elected officials shall be four years, and all persons elected at the odd year general election shall take office at 12:00 noon on January 1 following their election.
