All existing multifamily dwelling units shall be in compliance with the requirements of this chapter within six months from the effective date of this chapter (Ordinance 82-4, passed February 8, 1982). All existing single-family dwelling units shall be in compliance with the requirements of this chapter within one year from the effective date of this chapter.
