All premises using City water shall be metered. Meters shall remain the property of and under the control of the City. Not more than one residence, business, industry or commercial constitution shall be served by one meter. Each premise metered shall have its own separate water supply line and shut-off valve (curb stop) between the water main and property line, if not, shall be updated during any upgrades or at the time of a complete water line replacement. Exceptions to the one line one meter rule may be granted by the City Manager for water lines that are over 1" in size. If an exception is granted, a meter manifold with individual lockable shutoffs must be installed at the point of entrance of the water line into the building. This is at the cost to the owner per the fee schedule that is set by Council.
