660.01 MINOR'S CURFEW.
   (a)   Prohibited Hours. No person under the age of seventeen years shall loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play, pleasure ride, park or be in or on any type of vehicle in, on or about any public street, highway, road, alley, park, playground or other public grounds, public places, public buildings, vacant lots, places of amusement or entertainment or other unsupervised places in the City, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. of the following day, official City time, except that on Friday and Saturday nights such prohibition for persons fifteen and sixteen years of age shall be between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the following day, official City time. However, the provisions of this section do not apply to a minor accompanied by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor, or where the minor is upon an emergency errand or legitimate business directed by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor, or when the minor is going to, attending or coming directly from a legitimate church, Municipal or school function, or to a minor whose lawful employment makes it necessary that such minor be in, on or about the places herein set forth within the prohibited hours contrary to the provisions hereof.
   (b)   Parental Responsibility. No parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of any person under the age of seventeen years shall allow or permit any such person to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play, pleasure ride, park or be in or on any type of vehicle in, on or about any public street, highway, road, alley, park, playground or other public grounds, public places and public buildings, vacant lots, places of amusement or entertainment or other unsupervised places in the City contrary to the provisions of subsection (a) hereof, or fail or neglect to cause any such person to refrain from being in, on or about the places set forth in subsection (a) hereof contrary to the provisions of such subsection.
   (c)   Amusement Places. No person operating a place of amusement and entertainment in the City shall permit any person under the age of seventeen years to enter such place of amusement and entertainment during the hours prohibited by subsection (a) hereof. However, this subsection does not apply when the minor is accompanied by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor.
   (d)   Citation to Juvenile Court. Any police officer is hereby authorized to take into custody, without warrant, any person under the age of seventeen years found violating any of the provisions of subsection (a) hereof and to detain such minor for a reasonable time until the parent, guardian or other person having the care and custody of such minor is notified of such violation and detention. Any minor violating any of the provisions of subsection (a) hereof shall be deemed a delinquent or neglected child, as defined in State statutes, and shall be brought before the Juvenile Court having jurisdiction over such minor, to be dealt with by such Juvenile Court as provided by law.
