The Mayor shall be elected in even-numbered years and shall hold office for a term of four (4) years. For Council member terms beginning in 2006, each Council member shall hold office for a term of three (3) years. For Council member terms beginning in 2007, and for each Council member term thereafter, each Council member shall hold office for a term of four (4) years. The Mayor’s and Council members’ terms shall begin on the second Monday following the regular City election at which they were elected. Council member terms will be alternating with three (3) Council members elected every other even-numbered year.
