For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ENHANCED EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SYSTEM. A telephone system that uses the three digit “911" number to send automatic number identification and automatic location identification for reporting police, fire, medical or other emergency situations.
EXCHANGE ACCESS FACILITY.
(1) The access from a particular service users premises to a telephone system, which shall include:
(a) An access line;
(b) A private branch exchange (PBX) trunk;
(c) A centrex line trunk equivalent, all of which are provided by the service supplier; and
(d) A mobile telephone system access trunk, whether the trunk is provided by a telephone company or a radio common carrier.
(2) The term does not include:
(a) A service supplier owned and operated telephone pay station line;
(b) A wide area telecommunication service (WATS);
(c) A foreign exchange (FX) line; or
(d) An incoming only line.
SERVICE SUPPLIER. A person who provides exchange telephone service to a service user.
SERVICE USER. A person to whom exchange telephone service is provided.
