(A) Unless consent has been given in accordance with the county code, no individual, and no individual who is under age 16 years of age shall obtain or attempt to obtain a tattooing service. Unless consent has been given in accordance with the county code, no individual, and no individual who is under the age of 14 years of age shall obtain or attempt to obtain a body-piercing service.
(B) No individual who is under 16 years of age shall knowingly show or give false information concerning his or her name, age or other identification for the purpose of obtaining a tattooing service for himself or herself. No individual who is under the age of 14 years of age shall knowingly show or give false information concerning his or her name, age or other identification for the purpose of obtaining a body-piercing service for himself or herself. Likewise, no individual shall knowingly show or give false information or identification for another individual to receive a tattooing or body-piercing service.
(C) Tattoo/body-piercing parlors should require a birth certificate and picture ID of any individual receiving tattooing services, for their own records and protection.
(D) Warning: false application, altering, mutilating or counterfeiting state birth certificates is a criminal offense under I.C. 16-37-1-12; false application, alteration, mutilation or counterfeiting is a Class A misdemeanor.
(E) No individual shall impersonate the parent, guardian or custodian of an individual who is under age 18 for the purpose of obtaining for the individual under 18 a tattooing or body-piercing service.
