(A) Heretofore, the County Sheriff has established a work-release program in the County Security Center pursuant to I.C. 11-12-5-3 and pursuant thereto, the County Sheriff’s Department has charged each inmate participating in the program the sum of $5 per day for each and every day, or part thereof, that the inmate works and receives wages therefor.
(B) This section shall ratify the program heretofore established by the County Sheriff authorizing the County Sheriff to collect the sums, keep an accounting thereof and turning over to the County Auditor any and all sums thereby collected on a periodical basis.
(C) The County Auditor shall also keep account of the sums of money and place same in the County General Fund.
