§ 30.009 RESIDENCY CLAUSE.
   (A)   Pursuant to the authority of G.S. § 153A-94 the county has the power to establish a personnel system that will promote a fair and effective means of employee recruitment, selection, and develop and maintain an effective and responsible work force.
   (B)   In order to recruit and retain personnel with high qualifications and ability, the county recognizes the need to modify its current policy relating to residency requirements.
   (C)   The county officers, consisting of: County Manager, Assistant County Manager, Finance Director and County Attorney shall be required to be citizens and residents of Davie County, within 30 days of their appointment by the Davie County Board of Commissioners. However, in the event the Board of Commissioners desires to waive this requirement for the County Manager, they can do so by a provision in the County Manager's written contract.
   (D)   All acting department heads of county departments shall reside within the county or within a radius of 50 miles of the county boundaries, within 30 days of their hiring by the county to their position.
