For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
BUSINESS. Each trade, occupation, profession, business and franchise taxed under this chapter.
PANHANDLERS. All persons or agents who shall ask, beg or solicit any monies, funds or alms for any purpose without first registering and obtaining a panhandler privilege license issued by the county.
PEDDLERS. All persons who do not keep a regular place of business open at all times in regular business hours and at the same place, who are engaged in the business of offering for sale any goods, wares or merchandise to other than other merchants or dealers or those regularly engaged in the mercantile business, and all persons who keep a regular place of business open at all times in regular business hours and at the same place, but who, elsewhere than at such regular place of business, personally or through their agents, offer for sale or sell and, at the same time of such offering for sale, deliver goods, wares or merchandise to other than businesses.
PERSON. Any individual, trustee, executor, other fiduciary, corporation, unincorporated association, partnership, sole proprietorship, company firm or other legal entity.
PLACE OF BUSINESS. A fixed place at which a business in maintained.
SEASONAL BUSINESS. A business which is seasonal in nature when it is conducted for profit for a period of six months or less each year.
