§ 114.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   AMBULANCE.  Includes any motor vehicle equipped with facilities therein to transport injured or infirm persons, on call or demand, accepting patients and transporting them from a point in the county; however, this shall not be construed to include any taxicabs or any taxi services.
   ATTENDANT. Any state EMT level of certification.
   BOARD. The Board of County Commissioners of this county.
   CALL or RUN. The act of progressing with an ambulance to the scene of need and transporting a patient to his or her destination.
   DRIVER. Any state EMT level of certification.
   EMERGENCY MISSION. The operation of an ambulance to the scene where a person is in dire need of medical attention and the transporting of the patient to a medical facility.
   OWNER. Any person to whom a franchise for the operation of an ambulance(s) has been granted.
   PATIENT. Any person being transported to medical attention or from medical attention in an ambulance.
   PERSON. Any individual, partnership, association, corporation, or other organization owning, operating, or proposing to operate an ambulance(s) within this county.
