§ 52.075 OBJECTIVES.
   (A)   It is the intent of this subchapter to recognize that there are varying degrees of hazard to potable water within the public water system. It is also the intent to ensure the degree of protection be the same as the degree of hazard.
   (B)   The purpose of this subchapter is:
      (1)   To protect the county public potable water supply against actual or potential cross-connections, backflow, and backsiphonage by isolating, within the premises or private property, contamination or pollution that has occurred or may occur because of an undiscovered or unauthorized cross-connection on the premises or private property;
      (2)   To eliminate or control cross-connections, backflow, and backsiphonage or any other source of water or process water used for any purpose whatsoever which may jeopardize the safety of the public potable water supply of the county; and
      (3)   To provide a continuing inspection program of cross-connection control which will systematically and effectively control all actual or potential cross-connections which may be installed in the future.
