In computing any period of time prescribed by this chapter for performing an act, the day of the act or event upon which the designated period of time begins to run is not to be included. The last day of the period is to be included unless the last day is a Saturday, Sunday, a day recognized by resolution of the Board of Commissioners as a holiday for employees of Davidson County Government, or a day on which weather or other conditions have caused Davidson County to close its offices for the transaction of business, in which event the period to perform an act runs until the end of the next day which is not one of the days mentioned in this sentence for which the last day of the period is not included.
