In addition to enforcement of the provisions of this chapter, the Davidson County Fire Marshal shall:
(A) Advise the Board of Commissioners on improvements in the firefighting and training activities under the supervision and control of Davidson County;
(B) Coordinate firefighting and training activities under the county’s supervision or control;
(C) Coordinate fire prevention activities under the county’s supervision or control;
(D) Assist contracted fire protection agencies in developing and improving firefighting and fire prevention capabilities;
(E) Make periodic inspections and reports of school buildings required by G.S. Chapter 115 and the inspections of childcare facilities required by G.S. Chapter 110. A Fire Marshal shall not make electrical inspections unless he or she is qualified to do so under G.S. § 160D-1103 and holds a valid certificate issued by the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board;
(F) Perform those duties and activities as set forth in the Davidson County Emergency Operation Plan;
(G) Perform necessary duties as it pertains to the operation of emergency management; and
(H) Perform any other duties and activities as the Board of Commissioners may from time to time require of the Fire Marshal.
