§ 51.07 SEWER CHARGES ADJUSTMENTS POLICY.
   (A)   Each resident of the town or customer of the town sewer utility is eligible for sewer fee adjustments. The adjustments will be allowed at a given sewer customer address.
   (B)   In the event of a water leak, outside watering, filling pools, filling ponds, sprinklers, pressure washing or any other water usage activities where the utility customer can demonstrate or explain that the water used by the customer did not enter the public sewer system, the customer can be eligible for a sewer bill adjustment at the discretion of the Town Clerk-Treasurer. The customer can apply for adjustment of the sewer rate charges if the customer can demonstrate/explain to the Town Clerk-Treasurer and/or the Town Superintendent’s satisfaction that the extra portion of the water used did not enter the public sewer treatment system. To receive the adjustment, the customer must contact the Town Clerk-Treasurer and/or the Town Superintendent to receive approval. Approval is at the discretion of the Town Clerk-Treasurer and/or the Town Superintendent and may be based on usage, account history and average usage.
   (C)   To determine the amount of sewer adjustment that will be applied to the individual bill, the Town Clerk-Treasurer or Town Superintendent shall determine the 12-month average water usage for the account and adjust the sewer bill down to the 12-month average or to the appropriate average they determine to be accurate. This adjustment may be made before or after sewer bills are printed and mailed to customers. The Town Clerk-Treasurer shall keep a written documentation list of adjustments, reasons and accounts. The difference between the original bill and the adjusted bill shall be subject to the approval of the Town Clerk-Treasurer as part of the town’s Sewer Department adjustment policy.
