(A) The following requirements and standards are hereby adopted as the applicable construction requirements and standards for the Darlington Main Street area, as same is herein designated by the Town Council.
(1) Benches. Benches, if installed, shall be the following or substantially similar in style and color:
(a) Scarborough benches;
(b) Backed, 72" length;
(c) Horizontal strap seat;
(d) Freestanding/surface mount; and
(e) Powder coat, color: grotto (black).
(2) Trash receptacles. Trash receptacles, if installed, shall be the following or substantially similar in style and color:
(a) Victor Stanley “Ironsites” trash receptacles ;
(b) Thirty six-gallon standard lid with plastic liner;
(c) Three-eighths inch solid steel bars; and
(d) Color: VS black.
(3) Planters. On-street planters, in installed, shall be the following or substantially similar in style and color:
(a) Long shadow planters;
(b) International 36 x 24 LS 9093;
(c) Twenty four and a half inches high;
(d) Thirty six inch diameter;
(e) Sixteen inch diameter base; and
(f) Six hundred ten pounds.
(4) Trees. No trees may be planted in the streetscape.
(5) Planter boxes. Window sill planter boxes, if installed, shall be the following or substantially similar in style and color: Copper Creek Arts copper window planters.
(6) Bollards. Bollards, if installed, shall be the following or substantially similar in style and color:
(a) Urban Accessories — San Francisco bollard; and
(b) Color - black.
(7) Ash receptacle. Ash receptacles/ash trays, if installed, shall be the following or substantially similar in style and color:
(a) Buttler Ash receptacle;
(b) Color - black; and
(c) Strap-mounded.
(8) Bike racks. Bike racks, if installed, shall be the following or substantially similar in style and color:
(a) Landscape forms - PI bike rack; and
(b) Color - black.
(9) Sidewalks. Sidewalks, as they are replaced, shall meet the following requirements:
(a) Be constructed of concrete to town specifications;
(b) Have uniform handicap ramps at all intersections;
(c) Be continuous through curb cuts and alleys; the street grade shall slope up to the sidewalk level to keep the sidewalk at a constant elevation;
(d) Shall not be painted, colored, textured, covered, or dyed with any material, paint, or finish other than the standard color and composition of concrete sidewalks; and
(e) Must be able to support the industry standard of 4,000 p.s.i., and otherwise be constructed in an industry-standard manner.
(10) Awnings and overhangs. Awnings and overhangs, as they are installed or replaced, shall conform with town specifications and be maintained in a safe and slightly manner at all times.
(B) While specific manufacturers are listed and approved herein, nothing in this subchapter shall require the use of a particular manufacturer’s product, if a product that is substantially similar in style and color can be located elsewhere.
