Located within the special flood hazard areas established in § 151.07 are areas designated as shallow flooding areas. These areas are subject to inundation by 1% annual chance shallow flooding (usually areas of ponding) where average depths are 1 to 3 feet. Base flood elevations derived from detailed hydraulic analyses are shown in this zone. In addition to §§ 151.50 and 151.51, all new construction and substantial improvements shall meet the following requirements:
(A) Adequate drainage paths shall be provided around structures on slopes, to guide floodwaters around and away from proposed structures.
