For the purpose of establishing reasonable rules and regulations governing the construction, alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location, and maintenance of buildings and structures within the jurisdiction of the city, including, but not limited to, permits and penalties, there is hereby adopted in its entirety as the Building Code of the city that certain code known as the International Building Code, 2012 Edition, and any amendments thereto that may from time to time be made, as recommended and published by the International Code Council, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "the Building Code"), and the whole thereof is hereby incorporated by reference herein as though fully set forth word by word and line by line, except for such parts thereof as are herein or hereafter modified, deleted, or amended. One copy of the Building Code shall be filed and maintained with by the City Clerk, and at least one copy shall be filed and maintained by the Department.
