(A) For the purpose of prescribing reasonable regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire and explosion, and with the intention of establishing standards for the protection of life safety from such hazards, there is hereby established the fire prevention code of the city. The fire prevention code shall consist of the following components:
(1) The express provisions of this chapter;
(2) The terms and provisions of the International Fire Code, 2018 Edition, as published by the International Code Council (“the IFC”), and any amendments thereto that may from time to time be made; and
(3) The terms and provisions of the National Fire Protection Association, Life Safety Code No. 101, 2018 edition (“the LSC”), and any amendments thereto that may from time to time be made. Except Section 24.3.5.1 Residential Sprinklers shall be deleted.
(B) The terms and provisions of the IFC and the LSC are hereby adopted in full and are incorporated by reference herein as though fully set forth word by word and line by line, and such terms and provisions are made a part of the fire prevention code of the city. One copy of the IFC and of the LSC shall be filed and maintained by the city clerk, and at least one copy of the IFC and of the LSC shall be filed and maintained by the fire division.
