§ 90.20 RABID DOGS.
   (A)   It shall be the duty of every veterinarian or any other person who discovers any dog to be suffering from rabies to report such fact immediately to the Animal Control Officer of the City. This report shall give the name, if known, and the place of residence of the person owning or harboring the dog, the place where the dog can be found and the license number of the dog, if known. Such dog or other animal shall be immediately taken up and impounded in the manner provided in this chapter and securely kept until the Animal Control Officer can make or cause to be made an examination. If it is determined that the dog is suffering from rabies, the dog shall be immediately slain.
   (B)   Any dog suffering from rabies or any dog or other animal bitten by a dog suffering from rabies is declared to be a nuisance, and such dog may be slain by any Law Enforcement Officer or Animal Control Officer of the City. It shall be the duty of any person owning or exercising control over such dog to surrender such dog to any Law Enforcement Officer or Animal Control Officer upon demand.
