(A) In addition to any other remedies provided in this chapter, the Animal Control Officer may seize, impound and confine any of the following animals:
(1) Any dog without a valid license tag;
(2) Any dog declared dangerous or vicious which is found without the tag required by this chapter, or is otherwise found not in compliance with the requirements of this chapter;
(3) Any animal at large;
(4) Any animal constituting a public nuisance animal or considered a danger to the public;
(5) Any animal that is in violation of any quarantine or confinement order;
(6) Any unattended animal that is ill, injured or otherwise in need of care;
(7) Any animal that is reasonably believed to have been abused, neglected or otherwise the victim of cruelty;
(8) Any animal that is reasonably suspected of having rabies;
(9) Any animal that is considered abandoned;
(10) Any animal that a court or hearing officer has ordered impounded or destroyed.
(B) The Animal Control Officer or the person in charge of any other shelter or pound to which dogs are taken shall immediately on receiving any dog make a complete registry, entering the breed, color, and sex of the dog, whether licensed or not, and if licensed, the name and address of the owner or keeper of the dog and the number of the license tag.

(C) When any licensed dog is impounded, notification shall be given by the Animal Control Officer to the owner or keeper of the licensed dog, informing him of the impounding of his dog. The notification shall further inform the owner that failure to claim the animal within a specified period of time may result in the disposition of the animal.

(D) Any person desiring to redeem an animal which has been impounded shall pay the following fees to the Animal Control Officer as appropriate:
(1) An impoundment fee of $35;
(2) The amount of any license or registration fee required by this chapter if the dog is not currently so licensed or registered; and
(3) A boarding fee at the rate not to exceed $5 per day or any part thereof.
(E) If any licensed dog impounded hereunder shall not be redeemed within ten days after impoundment, the dog shall be forfeited to the Animal Control Officer and shall be placed for adoption or destroyed by lethal injection.
(F) No unlicensed dog may be redeemed without first complying with the licensing requirements of this chapter. If any unlicensed dog impounded hereunder shall not be redeemed within seven days after impoundment, the dog shall be forfeited to the Animal Control Officer and shall be placed for adoption or destroyed by lethal injection.
(G) Any dog impounded more than three times for being at large shall not be redeemed. Any dog continuously at large shall be deemed an implied consent of the owner to relinquish ownership of such dog. Any dog so impounded shall be disposed of at the discretion of the Animal Control Officer.
