(A) All animals adopted or redeemed from the Animal Control Officer, or any animal pound or shelter, shall be microchipped within 30 days of the date of adoption. A fee of $15 shall be charged for the microchip.
(B) The microchip shall be implanted by a licensed veterinarian. A form shall be provided to the individual adopting the animal, to be completed by the veterinarian implanting the microchip. Upon being signed by the veterinarian, the form shall be returned to the Animal Control Officer. Failure to have the microchip implanted and failure to return the completed form to the Animal Control Officer shall be violations of this chapter.
