§ 50.17 EXCESSIVE RATES OF PUBLIC UTILITIES;REFUSAL TO FURNISH SERVICE.
   Any person, company, or corporation which, within the corporate limits of this city by virtue of a license or franchise from the corporate authorities, carries on the business of furnishing water, gas, light, heat, telephone or telegraph, or electrical service, or any other business impressed by law with a public use and for which corporate authorities are authorized to fix rates and charges, who willfully charges any sum in excess of the rate established by ordinance for service, or who willfully neglects or refuses to furnish service on demand, accompanied by a legal tender of the lawful charges, shall be punished as provided in § 10.99.
