(A) Appointments shall be made of the following persons:
(1) Designated representative of the chief of police;
(2) Sheriff of Vermilion County;
(3) State's attorney of Vermilion County;
(4) Public defender of Vermilion County;
(5) Circuit judge of Vermilion County;
(6) Director of Human Resources;
(7) Two members appointed by the mayor;
(8) Four additional members representing participating social services agencies, or not more than 2 members representing a cross section of racial, ethnic, and economic groups within the city.

(B) The mayor shall make appointment of members within 30 days after the initial passage of this chapter. All appointments shall be for periods of 3 years, except that members appointed due to their positions shall serve for the duration of their terms of office.
