§ 35.08 CAPTAINS.
   (A)   There is created the Office of Captain in the Fire Division, which is the second highest rank to which promotion may be made by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. Captains in the division of firefighting shall perform the duties and functions assigned to them by the Assistant Chiefs and shall report to the Assistant Chiefs.
   (B)   One Captain may be assigned to each shift at headquarters station. Subject to the authority of the shift commander, he shall supervise and be responsible for all activities and personnel under his command. He shall also act as training officer on his shift, and shall report to the shift commander.
   (C)   Captains shall perform such other duties as are assigned to them.
