There is created the Office of Assistant Chief in the Division, which is the highest rank to which promotion may be made by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. Assistant Chiefs shall perform the duties and functions assigned to them by the Director of Public Safety. They shall report to the Director of Public Safety.
