The Director of Public Safety or those appointed by him shall inspect, or cause to be inspected on a regular and special basis, all business, commercial, institutional, industrial, assembly, hotels, rooming houses, large apartments, and public buildings for the purpose of exposing and eliminating violations of life safety and fire prevention codes. The Director or those appointed by him, shall take steps necessary to provide for public safety. All plans for construction which require the approval of the City shall be submitted to the Fire Division for review of fire safety requirements and approval before construction.
