§ 34.30 APPOINTMENT; NUMBER; QUALIFICATIONS; TERM.
   (A)   The mayor is authorized to appoint a maximum of 50 auxiliary police officers. That number may be changed from time to time by ordinance adopted by a majority of the council. Each individual appointment shall be subject to the advice and consent of the council.
   (B)   Prior to the appointment of any auxiliary police officer, his fingerprints shall be taken, and an examination made of the fingerprints. No person shall be appointed as an auxiliary police officer if he has been convicted of a felony or other crime involving moral turpitude.
   (C)   The term of the appointment shall not exceed one calendar year from the date of appointment.
