§ 94.080 STREET SUPERINTENDENT.
   (A)   The appointment of the Street Superintendent shall be made by the Mayor and confirmed by Council at the first regular meeting of Council of each calendar year and the term shall be for a period of one year.
   (B)   The individual appointed as Street Superintendent shall serve a probationary period of six months after which the Mayor shall make a written recommendation to Council, whereupon the Mayor at the direction of Council shall either finally appoint or remove the individual as the Street Superintendent. If an individual is appointed to successive terms as Street Superintendent and has previously completed the six-month probationary period then no probationary period shall be required during the successive terms.
   (C)   The duties of the Street Superintendent shall consist of the overseeing and supervising of the maintenance, repair and construction of the village streets and village storm sewer or any other system pertaining to and under the control of the village, including the cemetery or as the Mayor of the village may, from time to time, direct the Superintendent to oversee, maintain, repair or construct, and as Council shall request. His or her duties shall also include, but not limited to, maintenance of equipment, cleaning and sweeping streets, plowing snow and salting streets as the need arises, cleaning catch basins, mowing the grass, operating backhoe, emptying trash cans and any other duties that may be required to keep the village in a neat and orderly appearance.
   (D)   The Street Superintendent shall, with the consent of the Mayor, have power and authority to hire other person or persons as may be deemed necessary to carry out the above duties.
   (E)   Persons hired as set forth in division (D) above shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor, by and with the consent of the Council.
   (F)   Salary shall be commensurate with experience and determined by separate ordinance.
   (G)   Persons who fill full-time positions established by this chapter shall be furnished basic hospitalization insurance covering himself or herself and those persons who are members of his or her family deemed as dependents.
