§ 52.65 SUPERINTENDENT OF WATER AND SEWERAGE.
   (A)   There shall be a Superintendent of Water and Sewerage in and for the village. The duties of this position shall include all work in connection with the maintenance and operation of the sewerage system of the village, including control of the establishment, especially the disposal plant and sewerage lines and use and connections to the sewers. The Superintendent of Water and Sewerage shall have charge of the inspection of the construction of house sewers and other sewer connections and the performance of all other duties in relation to the maintenance of the sewerage system as the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs may direct. The Superintendent of Water and Sewerage shall maintain accurate and complete records of his or her work and shall submit an annual report to the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs and to the Council.
   (B)   The salary of the Superintendent of Water and Sewerage shall be established by ordinance of the Council from time to time.
   (C)   Additional persons may be hired, from time to time, as a need may be shown by the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs, to assist in the necessary work of the sewerage system including the disposal plant, and the employees shall be paid at a rate as established by ordinance.
   (D)   In addition to the official holidays deemed by the Mayor as official holidays, the day following Thanksgiving Day shall be deemed as a holiday and the birthday of the Superintendent shall be deemed as a holiday for him or her, and he or she may choose another day as a non-work day in lieu of the birthday.
   (E)   The Superintendent of Sewerage and the Superintendent of Water are combined positions, filled by one person and allowable vacation periods for the Superintendent of Water and Sewerage are as specified in the ordinance creating the Superintendent of Water, and are concurrent therewith.
   (F)   The Superintendent of Water and Sewerage shall be entitled to sick leave on the basis of one and one-fourth days per calendar month worked. The days, when not used, shall be cumulative and shall accumulate to a total of 90 days and not to exceed 90 days.
   (G)   The Superintendent shall work such hours as he or she shall be directed by the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs, and the Superintendent may work more than 40 hours per week and shall receive pay at a rate of one and one-half times the base hourly rate for each hour of overtime worked in excess of over eight hours per day and 40 hours per week.
   (H)   For each class, a state wastewater license obtained by the Superintendent, the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs is authorized to compensate the Superintendent and the Superintendent shall receive an annual pay raise as set by ordinance.
