§ 40.02 RECORDS CUSTODIAN.
   (A)   Each department or division is to appoint an employee to serve as Records Custodian. The Records Custodian has custody of the records of that department or division. The Records Custodian must acknowledge receipt of a copy of this policy and is responsible for posting this policy and the village's public records policy in a conspicuous place in each location where the village does business.
   (B)   The Records Custodian is responsible for contacting the Village Solicitor for legal review of records requests. The Records Custodian is also responsible for reviewing and updating record retention schedules and ensuring that the department or division's retention schedule is available to the public for review.
   (C)   Each department or division is also responsible for publishing a copy of this policy in any manual or handbook of general policies or procedures that the department or division puts together for employees.
