§ 34.25 PROBATION.
   Each newly appointed police officer and each newly promoted police officer of this department shall serve a 12 month probationary period of continuous service. The Mayor shall be advised of each officer's progress and proficiency periodically by the Chief of Police. After 12 months of continuous service, the Mayor shall transmit or cause to be transmitted to Council a written record of each such police officer's performance, along with his/her recommendations. The Mayor, with concurrence of Council, may remove or finally appoint the officer to the stated position.
