The Village of Dalton shall furnish equipment and training to each police officer in the village as required by law and as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Chief of Police. Full-time officers shall be entitled to a $1,000 uniform allowance, and part-time officers shall be entitled to a $500 uniform allowance per year or on an as needed basis as approved by the Council. Each such police officer shall be sworn as prescribed by law, to perform the duties of a police officer by the Mayor of the village. Part- time officers terminating within one year of hire date will reimburse the village the amount that was used from their uniform allowance.
