(a) A person who owns or controls property used for parking may designate one or more parking spaces or a parking area for the exclusive use of vehicles transporting disabled persons in accordance with Section 681.009 of the Texas Transportation Code, as amended.
(b) The offenses set forth in Section 681.011 of the Texas Transportation Code, as amended, apply to violations of disabled parking regulations occurring in a parking space or area designated for disabled persons under Subsection (a) of this section when the space or area is identified in conformance with the identification standards adopted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and described in Section 681.009(b) of the Texas Transportation Code, as amended (which identification standards are codified in Rule Section 68.100 of the Texas Administrative Code, as amended).
