(a) Subgrade or Base Preparation. The area designated to receive the proposed pavement shall be graded and the base so generated shall be thoroughly compacted, employing the use of standard vibratory compaction devices, to the extent that ninety-five percent of maximum density as fixed by the American Society of Testing Materials, Method D-698-A, is achieved.
(b) Base Coarse Material. The base coarse of the proposed pavement shall be constructed substantially in accordance with the State of Ohio Department of Transportation Construction and Material Specifications, Item 304, meeting the soundness requirements of Item 703 of such Specifications.
(c) Wearing Coarse Material. The finished pavement surface coarse shall meet the requirements as set forth in the State of Ohio Department of Transportation Construction and Material Specifications, Item 404.
(d) Design of Pavement. While the actual design of the involved pavement is intentionally left by this specification essentially in the hands of the owner's engineer, the minimum requirements cited herein will be employed by the Village Engineer in his or her review of submitted planning pursuant to Village approval.
