Whenever city staff shall find that a nuisance exists within the city, a city enforcement employee shall give written notice to the person creating, permitting or maintaining such nuisance to abate the nuisance. Such notice
may be served by certified mail. Such notice may likewise be served by conspicuously posting a copy of such notice upon the premises where the nuisance exists, whenever the owner or agent thereof is not known or cannot be located.
The city may defray the cost of abating a public nuisance by taxing the cost thereof by special assessment against the real property on which the nuisance occurred. (Ord. 712 (part), 2012; Ord. 705 (part), 2011; Ord. 585 (part), 2003)
