Notwithstanding the provisions of this chapter, § 4.305.2 of the California Green Building Standards Code is hereby added as follows:
4.305.2 Gray water for low-rise residential building. When a low-rise residential building includes one or more dwelling units that contain a laundry connection within the dwelling unit, all of the dwelling units containing a laundry connection shall have a minimum of one (1) plumbing fixture constructed to divert gray water onto the subject property in full compliance with Chapter 15 of the California Plumbing Code. The fixture(s) connected to the gray water discharge system may be any fixture(s) connected to discharge gray water under the California Plumbing Code. The gray water be utilized for landscape irrigation or for percolation into the soil.
