(A) In emergencies, when a tree or trees have been severely damaged by storms or other causes, the Street Superintendent, or his or her designee, may waive the requirement for a tree care permit. All removals of public trees under those conditions shall be reported to the Street Superintendent.
(B) When emergency situations are declared, the town or public utilities may act to trim or remove any trees which endanger the public, inhibit the passage of streets, or otherwise interfere with utilities and public infrastructure.
(C) Topping and the severe cutting back of limbs may be allowed by the Street Superintendent or his or her designee under emergency conditions.
