§ 95.001 PURPOSE OF CHAPTER.
   The purpose of this chapter is to regulate the planting, care and maintenance of trees in the public right-of way, recognizing the contribution trees make to the economic vitality, air quality, temperature moderation, wildlife habitats, and aesthetic enjoyed by the citizens of the town. Further, the purpose is to encourage the proper selection and planting of trees and shrubs on public ways in order to improve pedestrian safety and vehicular safety, and to assure compatibility with other urban infrastructure such as utilities, sidewalks and streets. The regulations and policies contained herein are intended to establish the responsibilities of the town and its citizens towards trees and shrubs in and affecting the public right-of-way and to assure those regulations and policies are followed.
