(A) It is the policy of the town that the town shall not discriminate against any employee or against any applicant for employment with the town because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin (hereinafter sometimes referred to as equal opportunity policy).
(B) To carry out equal opportunity policy, elected town officers, members of various boards appointed by elected town officers, the chief official of the various departments of the town and all supervisory personnel of the town shall take action to insure that all applicants for employment are employed without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin, which action shall include but not necessarily be limited to, employment, recruitment or recruitment advertising, rates of pay of other forms of compensation and selection for training.
(C) To carry out equal opportunity policy, elected town officers, members of various boards appointed by elected town officers, the chief official of the various departments of the town and all supervisory personnel of the town shall take action to insure that all employees are treated, during employment, without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, handicap familial status, or national origin which action shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, upgrading, demotion or transfer, layoff or termination, rates of pay or other forms of compensation and selection for training, including apprenticeship.
(D) To carry out the equal opportunity policy, elected town officers, members of various boards appointed by elected town officers, the chief official of the various departments of the town and all supervisory personnel of the town, in all solicitations or advertisement for employees placed on behalf of the town, shall state that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, familial status, handicap or national origin.
