§ 30.36  CREATION OF COMMISSION.
   (A)   There is created and established as part of the governmental organization of the city, a Department of Redevelopment controlled by a board to be known and legally designated as the Crothersville Redevelopment Commission.
   (B)   The Crothersville Redevelopment Commission shall consist of a board of five commissioners, three of which shall be appointed by the Town Executive and two of which shall be appointed by the Town Council. The Town Executive shall also appoint an individual to serve as a non-voting adviser to the Redevelopment Commission. The Crothersville Redevelopment Commission is hereby authorized to undertake and carry out all purposes authorized or permitted pursuant to IC 36-7-14.
   (C)   Each redevelopment commissioner shall serve for one year from the first day of January after appointment until a successor is appointed and has qualified.
   (D)   A Redevelopment Commissioner or a nonvoting adviser appointed by the Town Executive may not have a pecuniary interest in any contract, employment, purchase, or sale made by the Crothersville Redevelopment Commission. However, any property required for redevelopment purposes in which a commissioner or nonvoting adviser has a pecuniary interest may be acquired, but only by gift or condemnation. A transaction made in violation of this division is void.
   (E)   The Board shall meet and organize as by law provided, The Redevelopment Commissioners shall hold a meeting for purposes of organization annually on the first day in January that is not a Saturday, a Sunday, or a legal holiday.
