(A) Any animal control officer may issue to any person in violation of this chapter a notice of chapter violation. The penalty established shall be paid to the Clerk-Treasurer within 72 hours in full satisfaction of the assessed penalty. In the even that such payment is not made within the period prescribed, proceedings shall be filed in the Jackson Superior Court 1.
(B) Persons who violate any provision of this chapter shall be subject to the following fine:
(1) Failure to restrain, first offense: $25. Fines for each subsequent offense within 12 consecutive months for first offense increase in increments of $25 per offense.
(2) Failure to restrain vicious dog or potentially dangerous dog, first offense $100. Fines for each subsequent offense within 12 consecutive months of first offense are $100 per offense.
(3) Failure to post warning signs, if required to do so by the Police Chief, or his designee, for potentially dangerous and/or vicious dogs and cats $50.
(4) Failure to notify the Police Chief of change of status for potentially dangerous and/or vicious dogs and cats $50.
(5) Failure to comply with any portion of the foregoing not previously addressed shall result in a $100 fine.
