Any person violating any section of this Traffic Code in lieu of being charged with such violation may have a period of seven days during which he, at his option, may pay the sum of $20 to the Town Clerk- Treasurer for the benefit of the general fund of the town, but provided that if any person violating any section of this Traffic Code shall fail to make said payment to the Town Clerk-Treasurer within said period, then and in that event, such person shall be charged with an offense under this section.
