(A) General water service.
(1) Any person, entity, corporation or governmental unit desiring water service must request
service from the town in a manner prescribed by the town, setting forth all purposes for which water will be used at the premises for which service is requested.
(2) Requests for utility service, when accepted by the town, shall cover only the premises and uses requested. Customers are prohibited from selling water or otherwise connecting water to other premises not specifically included in the request.
(3) Upon and after acceptance by the town of a request for utility service to the premises, the customer shall be liable for all utility service furnished to such premises until the town has terminated service to the premises, except as provided in § 53.04(B)(1)(b).
(4) Any changes in the identity of a customer at the premises will require a new request for utility service, and the town may, after notice provided in accordance with these rules, discontinue utility service until such new request has been made and accepted.
(5) Utility service for leased premises shall be requested only by the owner or the lessee in control of the premises. If requested, a written lease agreement must be provided to the town.
(B) Special arrangements for water service.
(1) Water service for any of the following purposes, and any additional special circumstances, must be specifically requested and will not be provided by the town until the special terms and conditions applicable thereto, if any, have been agreed upon:
(a) Building and construction purposes, including shopping centers;
(b) Condominiums, cooperative apartments and housing developments;
(c) Public and private fire service;
(d) Transient or temporary purposes;
(e) Water service requiring a main extension or connection to another source of water;
(f) Water for resale;
(g) Premises as defined in § 53.01.
(2) Water service shall not be provided for resale except to another utility. The town is under no obligation to provide resale service to another utility. Agreements for the sale of water for resale may contain minimum bill or minimum purchase obligation provisions.
(C) Deposits. The town may require a cash deposit from customers as set forth in the Town Code.
