§ 50.02 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply, unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   BAGS.  Plastic sacks designed for refuse with sufficient wall strength to maintain physical integrity when lifted by the top; securely tied at the top for collection with a capacity not to exceed 30 gallons.
   CONTAINERS.
      (1)   REUSABLE CONTAINER.  A receptacle made of plastic, metal, or fiberglass with a capacity not to exceed 30 gallons, with a tight-fitting lid, and handles of adequate strength for lifting.
      (2)   NON-REUSABLE CONTAINER.  Plastic trash bags as defined in this section.
   GARBAGE. The putrescible and vegetable wastes resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking and consumption of food.
   HAZARDOUS WASTE. Waste designated as hazardous by the United States Environmental Protection Agency or appropriate state agency.
   RESIDENTIAL UNIT. A single-family inhabitable unit with facilities which are used or are intended to be used for living, sleeping, cooking and eating. This includes buildings containing two or less separate or contiguous single family dwelling units with each unit to be treated separately for purposes of billing.
   RUBBISH. The miscellaneous waste material resulting from housekeeping including ashes, cartons, tin cans, metal, small packing boxes and waste papers, excluding discarded materials from building construction or repair unless adequately bundled. Refuse from industrial plants or hazardous materials are specifically excluded.
   SUPERVISOR. The Supervisor of the Division of Sanitation of the Department of Public Works, or other duly appointed representative of the City Council.
