(A) The City Administrator may, in his/her discretion, order the Chief of Police to sell any unclaimed personal property at public auction.

(B) After authorization by the City Administrator, the Chief of Police shall set the date, time and place for a public auction of all property recovered by the departments for which no claim has been made for more than one year.
(C) The Chief of Police shall cause a notice of sale containing a general description of items to be sold to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the city at least two weeks prior to the sale.

(D) The services of a professional auctioneer may be used if this is deemed necessary and desirable.
