This chapter shall be known and cited as the CREVE COEUR BUILDING CODE, and presumptively shall provide for all matters affecting or relating to the construction, equipment, alteration, repairing, moving or demolition of buildings or structures wherever erected or to be erected or removed in the village.
The International Building Code, 2018 Edition (“IBC”) as prepared by the International Code Council; the International Residential Code, 2018 Edition (“IRC”), as prepared by the International Code Council; the International Property Maintenance Code, 2018 Edition (“IPMC”), as prepared by the International Code Council, and the International Mechanical Code, 2018 Edition (“IMC”), as prepared by the International Code Council are hereby adopted and made a part of this chapter by reference thereto (“the codes”). All village inspectors are trained to make sure that buildings are constructed in accordance with the above accepted and legal standards. The codes used by the village inspectors in performing their official duties are published and available for inspection in the office of the village clerk upon request. All codes used by the village’s inspectors are incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and the provisions thereof shall be controlling. In the event of any conflict between the provisions as otherwise contained in this chapter and those contained in the codes on file at the office of the village clerk, the provisions as contained in the codes shall apply.
