9-2-14: AMBULANCES, FEES:
It shall be unlawful for any ambulance or paramedic service or any operator or owner of any ambulance or paramedic service to charge a fee greater than that charged by the village volunteer fire-rescue department ambulance service for unsolicited services provided. This provision shall not apply if ambulance or paramedic services are requested or solicited by any private or public person or agency. It shall be the duty of any ambulance provider to contact the village clerk prior to billing for any unsolicited services in order to determine the established rate charged by the village volunteer fire-rescue department for ambulance services. Any attempt to collect excessive fees in violation of this section shall subject the driver and owner of said ambulance or paramedic service to a fine of not less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) nor more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00).
