No person shall collect, remove or dispose of residential garbage without first having obtained a license to do so; provided that any person desiring to collect, remove or dispose of residential garbage from his own premises, without the aid of a licensed residential garbage collector, may do so.
There shall be no more than one license for residential garbage collection, authorizing the collection of garbage from residential dwelling units within the Village.
The penalty for any residential garbage collection company collecting garbage from a residential dwelling unit without an exclusive license duly authorized by the Village, shall, upon conviction, be assessed a fine of not less than $250.00, nor more than $750.00, plus court fees and attorneys' fees per occurrence. Every day that a violation continues shall be deemed to be a separate occurrence. Each residential dwelling unit from which the residential garbage collection company collects shall be deemed a separate violation. (Ord. 216-D, 2-12-2003; amd. Ord. 899, 2-28-2020)
